SOLOCOREOGRAFICO is the solo dance festival and award, founded by choreographer Raffaele Irace in 2014, dedicated to the choreographic composition for solo dancers.

The festival is held annually in four editions hosted by different European and international venues, including Torino (Italy), Frankfurt, Friedrichshafen (Germany) and Lyon (France).

Each year, SOLOCOREOGRAFICO presents a selection of outstanding artists in the field of choreographic composition and dance, chosen through an international call and by invitation.

The festival offers an important opportunity to foster artistic exchange among choreographers, dancers, critics, professionals, and audiences.

​

What is a solo choreography? The solo is a particular composition that in addition to improve the technical and interpretive quality of the dancer, challenges the choreographer's creativity on a specific work based on a single performer.​

The dancer during the solo may embody the human in front of itself, the individual in front of the society, the human who faces his personal challenge, a journey inward and transcendent at the same time.
 

During the festival the dancers and choreographers receive differetn artistic awards.​ A Jury of professionals in the field of dance and the audience will awards two prizes: Solocoreografico Award "Best Creation" and Solocoreografico Award "Best Performance". The audience will assign the  "Audience Award".​

Starting 2022 the festival has developed two different areas together with the main program: the Solocoreografico YOUTH Dance Program, to support young dancers from the age of 12 to 18+ dance students, and the Solocoreografico FILM NIGHT dedicated to short dance films presentation.
